An English speaking movie fans club was set up at Mariupol State University

On December 8, the English Speaking movie fans club was set up at Mariupol Information and Resource Center "Window to America" by the initiative of Yana Panova, Volunteer of the Center, assistant professor of Theory and Practice of Translation Department.

Pupils, students, including foreigners, and professors nearly 30 people attended the first meeting. The participants reviewed Stephen Spielberg's movie "Catch Me If You Can" with Leonardo Dicaprio in the starring role, after which they discussed the plot and the topics of the film.

Special interest attracted the figure of the protagonist: someone was fascinated by his talent of imperceptibility, and someone, on the contrary, condemned the tyranny of deeds. The participants expressed their arguments in favor of one or another opinion during a peculiar debate. Communication was only in English in the club.

The cozy atmosphere, tea and a possibility of informal communication with like-minded people brought not only the benefit but also a great satisfaction to the movie fans who aspire to improve their English language skills.

The club meetings will be held twice a month. The next meeting is planned to be held for December 22. To participate in the sessions, you will need a pre-registration through the link provided in the events announcements at the Window of America Center page on Facebook.
