Associate Professor of Mariupol State University Serhii Pakhomenko delivered a thematic lecture at the premises of the Embassy of Ukraine

Associate Professor at the department of International Relations and Foreign Policy and the Department of Social Communications of Mariupol State University Serhii Pakhomenko delivered a thematic lecture with the title "How to deal with the propaganda and media manipulation”. The lecture was attended by the delegation of the employees of a diplomatic mission headed by Ambassador Mykhailo Brodovych and representatives of Ukrainian diaspora in Slovenia.

Serhii Pakhomenko focused on the tools and technologies of influence on public opinion used by modern mass media and provided guidelines for the consumers of information. The topicality of these issues in terms of a hybrid warfare, which is indissolubly related to the information war, has stirred up a heated debate and exchange of views on the effectiveness of approaches and possible ways of countering propaganda and manipulation.

This is the second time when such a lecture is held at the premises of the Embassy of Ukraine to the Republic of Slovenia and within the framework of a private visit on invitation of Ukrainian diaspora. Last year this visit was initiated by Olga Moroz, leader of Ukrainian cultural and educational organization "Rukavychka" (“Glove”) (Slovenia). During the meeting Serhii Pakhomenko garnered the support of the Embassy in the matters concerning cooperation with universities of Slovenia, and discussed the possibility of organizing trainings for the MSU students of specialty International Relations at diplomatic mission of Ukraine.

Serhii Pakhomenko is also planning to meet Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Croatia Oleksandr Levchenko on July 28th. Thus, MSU professors are not only authoritative experts, but also leaders of opinions and ideas of the University and Ukraine which they display to foreign countries.
