Davide La Cecilia, the Ambassador of Italy to Ukraine greeted MSU graduates

On June 26, it was a graduation show for bachelors at Mariupol State University. The ceremonial award of diplomas was held with the participation of Davide La Cecilia, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Italian Republic to Ukraine, who visited the university for the first time. In 2019, MSU released more than 400 graduates of the Bachelor degree, including the students from Nigeria, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan.

With warm greetings to the young people were addressed by Professor Kostyantyn Balabanov, Rector of Mariupol State University, Honorary Consul General of the Republic of Cyprus in Mariupol. He noted the successful work of teachers, who shared their knowledge and energy with each student and contributed to their personal and professional growth. He also thanked the parents for helping to train worthy professionals, genuine patriots, decent and intelligent young people.


Davide La Cecilia congratulated all those present in the hall and awarded with diplomas to exemplary graduates and those who studied Italian as the main language as well as the second and third foreign languages.


Stepan Makhsma, Secretary of Mariupol City Council, Colonel Serhiy Vitvitsky, Head of the Department of Organizational and Analytical Support and Rapid Response of the State Unitary Research Enterprise in Donetsk region, Olena Kalaytan, DIrector and Chief Editor of «Pryazovsky Worker» newspaper, Nadia Chapni, Head of Mariupol Greek Society and other honorable guests attended the ceremony for the awarding of diplomas to the bachelors of Mariupol State University.  


Diplomas with honours were awarded to graduates who studied well, were engaged in science, became prize-winners of all-Ukrainian Olympiads and contests of scientific works, participated in international educational programs, received scholarships from the President of Ukraine and Mariupol City Council. Among them: Valeriia Gnidina (major «International Economics»), Olga Kolodyazhna («Language and Literature (Italian)»), Ivan Abuzov («System Analysis»), Anastasiia Kucherenko («International Relations»), Maryna Krasozova («Preschool Education»), Yevgen Pakhmutov («Translation and Interpreting (Modern Greek)») and others.


Graduates of the major «Political sciences» complemented the list of specialists, demanded in the conditions of the development of the political system of Ukraine. This year it was the first graduation of bachelors of the major «Pilotocal science».


In total, during the years of work, Mariupol State University has graduated about 20,000 highly skilled professionals who work successfully in local self-government bodies, law enforcement agencies, mass media, educational institutions in Mariupol and Ukraine. More than 1000 MSU graduates live and work abroad in more than 30 countries.
