On May 30, an online meeting of representatives of Mariupol State University and La Sapienza University of Rome (Italy) was held.  

Within the framework of the memorandum of cooperation signed in April, the participants discussed concrete steps for future joint work.

The Rector, Professor Mykola Trofimenko, took part in the discussion of ways of cooperation from the University of Mariupol, and the Rector, Professor Antonello Folco Biagini, Professors Mario Karta and Gianfranco Tamburelli took part in the discussion of ways of cooperation from the University of Rome.

It is worth noting that before the war, Gianfranco Tamburelli repeatedly visited Mariupol State University to conduct lectures on International Legal Relations.

Professor Trofymenko told his Italian colleagues about the state of the University after the evacuation from Mariupol and the continuation of work in war conditions.
 

The resumption of the activity of Mariupol State University is the foundation from which a new stage of the complex and difficult life of my colleagues should begin. We are reviewing all our educational programs and developing a completely new university with a new philosophy in the centre of Ukraine.

Within the framework of cooperation, the Head of the University of Rome proposed to introduce double degree projects and joint research on Ukraine's European integration, migration and food crisis.

For students of Mariupol State University, the Italian university provides free access to its own distance courses, Italian lessons and educational programs in Economics and Law.

Also, during the meeting, the draft National Action Plan for external quality assurance of Higher Education for the next two years was presented.
