One June 5th-7th employees of the Scientific Library of Mariupol State University took part in the seminar "Strengthening the Network: Communication, Cooperation, Coordination" organized by the US Embassy in Ukraine together with America House Kyiv.

The event was held at the premises of Window on America Center of Scientific Library of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University. The seminar was attended by Deputy Director of Scientific Library of Mariupol State University Svetlana Nazarieva and first category bibliographer, Window on America Center coordinator in Mariupol Olena Okhrimenko. One of the objectives of the event was to strengthen the network of Ukrainian centers through practical exercises and trainings using electronic communications.

The library staff attended lectures, discussions, made practical assignments in groups, and saw presentations of participants' results. Students studied various educational resources of the US government, learned how to plan and develop innovative projects for political, social and economic aims of sustainable development of Ukraine.

Participants received certificates upon the completion of the event.

Window on America Centers provide opportunities for young Ukrainians to get acquainted with the US resources. Mariupol Window on America Center was created at the premises of Mariupol State University this March. It is the venue for lectures, presentations, American films, literary evenings, and meetings that promote a better understanding of the lives and values of people of the United States of America.
