The lesson was conducted by the Head of the Department of English Philology of Mariupol State University and a highly experienced teacher Nadezhda Nazarenko. At the beginning of the lesson attendants and later on Rector of Mariupol State University, Professor, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Cyprus to Mariupol Kostyantyn Balabanov greeted Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the USA to Ukraine Mr. Geoffrey R. Pyatt, who communicated with people via video conferencing from Lviv.

People of Ukraine from 55 cities, being at more than 100 sites simultaneously were present at the English language lesson to show that Ukraine is eager to speak the same language with the world. Anyone could attend the lesson regardless of the place of residence and English language proficiency. The project was initiated as a part of the campaign «Україна Speaking» and coordinated by the GoGlobal team and the Embassy of the United States to Ukraine. It was not by chance that MSU was chosen as the venue. US Ambassador to Ukraine Mr. Geoffrey R. Pyatt visited Mariupol State University and met with students in late April.
