Foreign students of MSU have learnt to paint pysanka

On April 4th, Mariupol State University held a workshop on painting pysanka for its foreign students and students of the preparatory department. The workshop was attended by the citizens of Bangladesh, Ghana, Guinea, Cameroon, Nepal and Turkmenistan.

Craftswomen from an applied arts artshop of Mariupol told about the meaning of symbols and colors, special colors, tools and techniques used while painting pysankas. This art event was especially interesting for students who live for the first year in Ukraine and study at MSU. As a keepsake of this event the participants of the workshop were given a self-painted pysanka to be able to tell their parents and friends about the traditions of pysanka painting in Ukraine.

The administration of University will keep on holding such events to help foreign students with getting acquainted with Ukrainian culture and traditions.
