On May 13, Mariupol State University was visited by the official Italian delegation which included an outstanding Italian lawyer, scholar, poet, government leader and public figure, Honorary President of the State Council of the Italian Republic, Doctor Corrado Calabrò as well as Nancy Milesis Romano, Fabrizio Romano’s wife (the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Italy to Ukraine), Director of the Italian Institute of Culture in Ukraine, a dear friend and fellow partner of MSU, Professor Nicola Franco Balloni.
At the entrance to the main campus of the university, the delegation was met by university’s students. National spirit and festive atmosphere was provided by the folk dance group called “Promin”, which performed “Greeting” dance. Then, students in Ukrainian and Italian national costumes cordially welcomed guests.
Traditionally, Rector of MSU, the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Cyprus in Mariupol, Professor Kostyantyn Balabanov conducted an excursion of the university during which they visited the alley of honorary professors, the Library of Hellenistic Studios "Konstantinos Leventis", the Institute of Ukraine - Greece Friendship and Hellenic Studies, Italian Language, Literature and Culture Department and Italian Culture Center.
