On February 12, the head of the Department of preschool education of Mariupol state University, Professor Elena Brezhneva, associate professors Olga Berezina, Elena Buhalo and assistant Marina Andreeva visited the Educational Resource center for children with special needs of the «MAALE» Charitable Foundation in Dnipro.

The trip took place within the framework of the Department's project “Laboratory for inclusive education of children and adolescents”, which was launched in January 2020, and was aimed at studying the experience of informal organizations that provide educational needs for children with developmental disabilities.

The Foundation's specialists familiarized the teachers with the material, technical, educational and scientific base of the center, told about the features of planning, organization of educational and methodological support and development of individual programs for the development of children with special educational needs.

Teachers of the Department were advised to form a staff of specialists consisting of a speech therapist, speech pathologist, psychologist, correctional and social teachers, to equip a resource-developing room taking into account the educational needs of children and to provide an individual path of child development in an inclusive environment.

The creation of the subject “Laboratory for inclusive education of children and adolescents” at the faculty of Philology and mass communications of Moscow state University will provide opportunities to develop a strategy for creating a single inclusive space in the city of Mariupol and increase the attention of society and public organizations to the issue of inclusive education.
