Vice-rector for scientific and pedagogical work, associate professor Tetiana Marena and head of the Department of Cultural Studies, Professor Yuliia Sabadash took part in an information tour to explore hotels in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt. The trip is organized by the tour operator Anex Tour, which is a partner of Mariupol State University.

Cooperation between the MSU and Anex Tour is aimed at expanding the opportunities for practical training and employment of students, as well as attracting graduates to work in the tourism industry and related industries.

At the invitation of Nataliia Velychko, director of the regional branch of Anex Tour of the Zaporozhye/Dnipro representative office, lecturers of Mariupol University joined the employees of travel operators, agencies and educational institutions to visit more than 40 hotels in the most popular Egyptian resort.

Tetiana Marena and Yuliia Sabadash got acquainted with the peculiarities of hotel management and material equipment of tourist recreation areas. They also studied the conditions in which students will receive practical training, because hotels in Sharm el-Sheikh are considered as bases of practice and employment.

In addition, the tour has become a platform for learning from experience. Communication with specialists of travel companies, Hotel and restaurant businesses, and cultural and leisure activities allowed Mariupol State University teachers to get a better idea of the competencies that students and graduates should possess. The knowledge will be useful for improving educational programs of the specialties "Tourism", "Cultural Studies", "Management", "Philology".
