Mariupol State University students took part in the seminar of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD)
Students of Mariupol State University Olga Torchilo and Daria Slepkanova took part in a seminar for students studying German on the topic "Civil society: what can I do for it?"
Within two days, students from Mariupol, Kiev, Nizhyn, Sumy, Kherson and Dnipro discussed current problems of contemporary society: discrimination, gender policy, corruption, and looked for possible ways to solve these problems. Participants got acquainted with projects that were implemented by students from Germany to counter corruption, discrimination and other social issues. They have also developed their own projects that will attract the attention of the society to the pressing problems of the present.
Fourth year students majoring Language and Literature (German) Olga Torchilo and Master student majoring in Secondary Education. Language and Literature (German) Daria Slepkanova, together with their colleagues from Kyiv, are planning to implement a project to counteract discrimination against foreigners. They will present the results of the project at a seminar in Sumy in November 2018.
German Philology Department and French Philology Department of Mariupol State University actively cooperate with German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). The next event, which will involve students from Mariupol State University will be German Academy (Deutschland-Akademie) to be held in Lutsk from May 17th till May 20th.
Ksenia Zabirko a 3rd year student majoring in Language and Literature (German), Master students majoring in Secondary Education. Language and Literature (German) Svetlana Voznyuk and Oleksandr Kostyts will represent Mariupol State University at this event.
