MSU and the framework of adaptation of the experience of integration of foreign students in the Erasmus + project

Representatives of Mariupol State University took part in the training week, which took place within the Erasmus + project "Integration and adaptation of foreign students".

Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, Associate Professor Hanna Tryfonova and Specialist of the Department of International Relations Vladyslav Klius spent six days at the Mykola Romeris University in Vilnius (Lithuania). Together with colleagues from 11 Ukrainian and foreign higher education institutions, they studied the experience of organizing work with foreign students.


Audra Dargite Burokine, Head of the Lithuanian Cooperation Office at the Lithuanian University, and Inesa Kvetkova, Chief Specialist for Admissions of Foreign Students, spoke about the intricacies of preparing for the arrival of foreign citizens, their enrollment, integration and adaptation. Educators were interested in the use of social networks and media content to promote the brand of higher education, particularly among foreigners.


The project participants acquainted with the material and technical base of the university, the peculiarities of the organization of the educational process, the work of the library and the postgraduate department, taking into account the involvement of foreign students in university life.

The Institute of Mentoring was established at the Nicholas Romeris University to facilitate the adaptation of foreign students. Every new foreign student on any question and at any time can contact the assigned student-volunteer and get an answer,

– Associate Professor Hanna Tryfonova.


In addition, the educators had the opportunity to talk with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Ukraine to Lithuania Volodymyr Yatsenkivskyi. He stressed the important role of universities in strengthening Ukraine's international prestige and shared his own experience in the diplomatic sphere. In turn, experts from the Vilnius Municipality told how they help higher education institutions to attract foreign students, organize sports and cultural events, and promote the development of talents among young people.


Incidentally, the rich curriculum was combined with cultural. The project participants acquainted with Vilnius, visited the Presidential Palace and the Center for Civic Education.
