MSU students learn about opportunities for international internships and exchanges

Last week a lecture on international internships and projects was held for students at Mariupol State University. The event was organised at the initiative of the Student Council and took place in a distance format.

Around 50 students attended the online meeting. The event was moderated by Karolina Hunko, chair of the student council's academic committee.

Lidiia Shevchenko, head of MSU's international relations office, and Halyna Nikitina, founder of the Telegram Channel "Your Space of Opportunity", told young people about scholarships, grants and conditions for participating in international internships. In addition, the lecturers shared useful tips on writing a motivational letter and resources for finding opportunities, including:

  • Online publication “Studway Opportunities”
  • Education Channel “Opportunities”
  • Public organization “Development and Initiative”

Student Karolina Borovykova-Bolkhovitina and graduate Oleksandra Fedotova shared their own experiences of internships abroad. In due course, the girls were awarded scholarships to study at leading institutions of higher education in Italy - University for Foreigners of Perugia and University for Foreigners of Siena. Karolina spoke from her own experience about the process of preparing documents for the internship, while Oleksandra explained how education takes place in quarantine conditions.

I have always dreamt of participating in international internships and exchange programmes, fortunately I have even been able to take part in some of them. There is not much time left before I graduate, so I am on the lookout for programmes that I can still join as a student. I was very interested to hear about the opportunities and to learn in detail about the internships that will be taking place off-line soon. I also learned more about Erasmus+ programmes, which are generally relevant to young people (mostly under 30), not just students,
