During two weeks, Albina Cherkez, Kristina Chapny, students of the Faculty of Greek Philology and Translation of Mariupol State University and Tetyana Subotina, the graduate of the faculty undertook an internship on the Kalymnos island to study Greek language and culture.
The educational program was organized by the International Relations and Cultural Exchange Association of Kalymnos-Athens. The program brought together participants from Ukraine, Georgia, Italy, Mexico, Palestine, Serbia and Egypt.
In addition to theKalymnos island, where the training took place, the girls visited Kos and Patmos islands, where they saw a large number of temples and monasteries, and in Athens, they visited the most famous of the Acropolis. The students noted that the most striking moment of the internship was the final concert, at which the participants presented creative permofmances and introduced the participants to the culture of their countries.
MSU has been actively cooperating with the International Relations and Cultural Exchange Association of Kalimnos-Athens for many years, led by Maria Theodoridu, who is a good friend of the university. In the last three years alone, about 20 MSU students have participated in international programs on Kalymnos Island.
A two-week internship in Greece for university students was free and participants paid only for the flight. At the end of the program, they passed the final test and received a certificate of completion of training.
This internship is a great opportunity to visit Greece, communicate and practice in Modern Greek with native speakers, as well as students who, like us, are in the process of studying it. Thanks to this program, it became easier to express opinion in foreign language. We also learned a lot about the culture and history of Greece,
