The President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nicos Anastasiades, thanked rector of Mariupol State University, professor, the Honorary Consul General of the Republic of Cyprus to Mariupol, Кostyantyn Balabanov, for congratulating him on winning the presidential elections in the Republic of Cyprus. In particular, the newly elected President noted the efforts made by the University to strengthen cooperation between the Republic of Cyprus and Ukraine.

Mariupol State University's cooperation with the Republic of Cyprus is one of the most promising lines of international cooperation of the university. Friendly and partner relations were established with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Education and Culture, the press service of the Government of the Republic of Cyprus, the Anastasios G. Levendis Foundation, the Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus in Ukraine, as well as with all the universities of the island state, with which Mariupol State University has a large number of student exchange programs.

Business relations between Mariupol State University and the Republic of Cyprus are an example of effective international cooperation, which is of great importance both for the university and for the general strengthening of friendship between the peoples of Ukraine and Cyprus.
