Spyridon Flogaitis, director of the European Public Law Organization, Former Minister of the Interior of Greece, tomorrow will be awarded the Honorary Professor of Mariupol State University, met with Vyacheslav Abroskin, the First Deputy Head of the National Police of Ukraine – Chief of Criminal Police, Second Class Police General, who is also a member of MSU Supervisory Board.
The meeting was held with the participation of Georgios Pukamissas, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Hellenic Republic to Ukraine and Professor Kostyantyn Balabanov, Rector of Mariupol State University, Honorary Consul General of the Republic of Cyprus in Mariupol. Issues on intergovernmental cooperation in the field of reforming law-enforcement structures, development of public law in Ukraine and implementation of joint projects, for example, organization of a platform for cooperation between the Ukrainian and Greek police were discussed.
MSU has an extensive experience in cooperation with the National Police and the EUROPEAN PUBLIC LAW ORGANIZATION (EPLO). A striking example of such cooperation is the international conference «The Legal Doctrine: International Experience and Practical Implementation in Ukraine», which was held in May this year. Another direction of cooperation is a support for the development of legal professions at Mariupol State University, which is provided by the National Police of Ukraine, in particular Headquarters of the National Police of Ukraine in Donetsk Region, and the EUROPEAN PUBLIC LAW ORGANIZATION.
During the visit of professor Flogaitis to Mariupol State University, it is planned to discuss new possibilities of cooperation, including the organization of the practice of students, who study at the Faculty of Law on the basis of the EPLO and the implementation of joint scientific projects within the frameworks of the European Commission's Erasmus + program.
