Students majoring in German language and literature received certificates of Goethe- Institute

Students of Mariupol State University received certificates of Goethe-Institute which are considered a valid document of advanced training for German language teacher and it is acknowledged by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

The fourth-year students majoring in German language and literature have taken an online course on Moodle platform of Goethe-Institute and have learnt the ways of planning a German language class. Yuliia Kazhan, the Associate Professor and the acting Head of the German and French philology department of MSU, along with Tetiana Pavlova, a German language teacher of Goethe-Institute in Ukraine were their mentors. The essential part of the study program was a four-week-long practice in Mariupol schools, where students were able to apply the acquired knowledge and skills.

 

The senior students had the opportunity to improve their linguistic skills and method expertise as well as receive an international certificate due to MSU and Goethe-Institute cooperation agreement in Ukraine. Within the framework of this Agreement the university carries out the pilot project of the Goethe-Institute which envisages the implementation into teaching and learning process of the Foreign Languages Department of educational material of DLL series (Deutsch Lehren Lernen – “Learning to teach German”) worked out by the international team of experienced professionals with the assistance of the Goethe-Institute.
