Valeriia Zatsepina and Adelina Oliinyk, students of the Greek Philology and Translation Department of Mariupol State University, took part in the International Summer School Program for the Study of Modern Greek, History and Culture of the Institute for Balkan Studies. The program lasted from the 26th of July up to the 26th of August in Thessaloniki (Greece).
At the beginning of the internship, participants were offered to take an exam in order to determine the level of their language proficiency, which also included written assignments and an interview with the program director Konstantinos Dimadis. The MSU students showed a high level of knowledge of the Modern Greek language and studied in the academic group of the highest level - С2 (8 level of complexity).
Participants of the program lived in a five-star hotel, where everyone shared a room with another foreign participant for the best practices of the Greek language. The daily program consisted of three classes, two of which were devoted to language and one to the history or literature. During the educational process, students visited the Greek cities of Vergina, Pella, Kavala, village Dion and West Macedonia.
Upon the completion of the training, program participants passed exams and received international certificates.
