The first meeting of the student international group “Encounters” took place at the Faculty of Greek Philology and Translation of Mariupol State University, led by Olena Peftiyeva, Assistant Professor of the Theory and Practice of Translation Department.

The students of the major "Translation (English)" invited foreign students from from Brigham Young University, namely Brian Williams (Texas) and Noah Hubdon (Washington).

During the meeting, American guests spoke about student life in the United States and played a game of memorizing words. In addition, Brian Williams drew the Mariupol students' attention to the peculiarities of the Texas dialect and the slang of Texans.

"Encounters" meetings are held once a month. Anyone wishing to participate in English-speaking discussions can contact the Theory and Practice of Translation Department of MSU.
