The information and resource Window on America centre, which operates on the basis of the research library of Mariupol State University, held a meeting of the English Speaking Movie Fans Club under the leadership of the senior teacher of the Theory and Practice of Translation Department Yana Panova.
This time, the members of the club chose to watch the American adventure action film directed by Michael Newell "Prince of Persia: The Sands Of Time". The fans of the English language were divided into teams and debated on the topic of relations between brothers and whether it is difficult to work and even rule the country together with relatives. The main issue for discussion was the past – whether one needs to go back to it and try to change, or is it better to let go and live on.
At the end of the meeting, the audience played a game "My Three", the theme of which was "Three events of the past that you would like to change, or that you would like to return to". According to the participants, most of them would like to be able to return to childhood, or regain lost love.
Also on this day, English Speaking Club Teens held a Halloween meeting teenagers. The volunteer of the center, an English teacher Natalia Yukhymenko, told the teenagers about the history of the holiday, its traditions and interesting facts, for example, how much money is spent in the United States on sweets for Halloween and what used to be decorated instead of pumpkins.
Also, the participants of the meeting solved complex mystical riddles and revealed each other's secrets in the game "Name Your Favorite". At the end of the meeting, the children received festive sweets with the cries "trick or treat".
