In May, Window to America Center, based at the Scientific Library of Mariupol State University, joined the World Eco-Flashmob Trashtag Challenge, dedicated to Earth Day and the Year of the Anti-Plastic Year.

Within the frameworks of the flashmob, among the Window to America centers, a competition was held in Ukraine to draw attention to the need to clean the environment of plastic and other trash that is harmful to nature. The event was organized by the USA Embassy in Ukraine and the American House in Kiev.

Participants should clean the territory, make a collage with before/after photos and post them on social networks tagged with #trashtagchallenge, #woamariupol, #trashtag, #EarthDay.

As a result of the competition, Mariupol State University staff took the 1st place and got gifts from the organizers.
