Mariupol State University lecturers went to Greece on an Educational Mission as part of the Erasmus Program+


Educators of Mariupol State University visited the Democritus University of Thrace under the Erasmus+ Academic Mobility Program.

Dean of the Faculty of Greek Philology and Translation, Associate Professor Yuliya Zharikova and Head of the Chair of Greek Philology and Translation, Associate Professor Yuliia Labetska went to the cradle of Western civilization.


During their stay at the Greek Higher Education Institution, MSU lecturers met with the University Administration headed by the Rector, Professor Alexandros Polychronidis, Head of the Chair of Language, Philology and Culture of the Black Sea countries, Professor Ilias Petropoulos and Deputy Head of the Chair, Professor Maria Dimasi.


The Democritus University of Thrace is a good friend of Mariupol State University and supports the academic community of MSU in implementing joint projects. Ukrainian and Greek lecturers considered ways to expand the existing cooperation between universities.

 

We considered the development of joint educational programs for students of the Chair of Greek philology and Translation of double diplomas in the future. We also paid attention to the discussion of the publication of a joint project of the Chairs of our universities for Ukrainian-speaking students of Greek schools. This is especially true in the context of forced resettlement of people due to military operations in Ukraine,

–  Dean of the Faculty of Greek Philology and Translation, Associate Professor Yuliya Zharikova. 

 

Among other things, educators of Mariupol University gave an interview to the Greek newspaper Paratiritis Thrakis. Yuliya Zharikova and Yuliia Labetska told the media about the creation of the Faculty of Greek Philology and Translation, the resumption of work of Mariupol State University in Kyiv, the specifics of organizing the educational process during martial law, and support for the Greek state.
