On February 6, at the Mariupol Center "Window to America", which operates on the basis of the scientific library of Mariupol State University, the opening of the exhibition of works of Gabriel Bulishova and Mark Isaac "Where the rivers come together" was held. The exhibition was created with the support of the Fulbright Academic Exchanges Program from the Government of the United States of America and provided by the American House Kyiv.
While working on the project, the artists met with representatives of more than 20 national communities of Mykolaiv, listened to their stories and imaged their discoveries in photographs, which combined the traditions of documentary and fine arts.
The works of the exhibition are presented in the form of diptychs, consisting of a person's portrait and a picture of a place or object that plays an important role in its ethnic heritage. Gabriela Bulishova and Mark Isaac are also authors of the article, in which they describe the unique combination of the cultures in Ukraine and analyze the potential conclusion that the rest of the world can walk away with, from the peaceful coexistence of national minorities in Mykolaiv.
We invite everyone to do the exhibition in the hall of the scientific library of Mariupol State University
