On Thursday, October 10, Consul General of the Hellenic Republic in Mariupol Grigorios Tassiopoulos visited Mariupol State University for the first time.
The diplomat met with the Rector of MSU, Professor and Honorary Consul General of the Republic of Cyprus in Mariupol Kostyantyn Balabanov, Vice-Rector for international relations, Professor, Advisor to the Chairman of the Donetsk regional state administration Mykola Trofymenko and Vice-Rector for scientific and pedagogical work, Associate Professor Iryna Petrova. They discussed prospects for further cooperation between the Consulate and the university.
Kostyantyn Balabanov told the guest about the university's history of creation, majors and dynamic international activities. In response, Mr Grigorios Tassiopoulos expressed his intention to promote cooperation between MSU and Greek partners and facilitate the participation of students and teaching stuff in international scientific, educational and cultural programs in Greece. The Consul General of Greece will also conduct public lectures for students studying the Greek language and international relations. The first lecture will take place next week.
At the end of the meeting, the Rector thanked Grigorios Tassiopoulos for his support and noted that the tradition of good friendly relations between the university and the Consulate General of Greece in Mariupol should be continued.
