At the initiative of the German and French Philology Department of Mariupol State University, the scholarship programmes of the German academic exchange service (DAAD) were presented at the Faculty of Foreign Languages. 

The German academic exchange service (DAAD) supports the mobility of teachers, students and young scientists. The programs make it possible to attend summer language courses in Germany, which presents one with an opportunity to improve one's level of German and get acquainted with the culture of the country.

Susanne Bandau, a lecturer of the German academic exchange service (DAAD), presented academic exchange programmes for teachers and students, in particular, master's programmes, summer language courses and advanced training programmes.

The lecturer also held a workshop for those present, during which she explained the peculiarities of drawing up documentation – autobiography and motivation letter, – which is necessary for applying for participation in the programmes. She noted that it is necessary to express one's thoughts not tritely and argue why a choice should be made in favour of the author of the letter.

Besides, the students willing to participate in DAAD programmes had the opportunity to take a test which confirms knowledge of the German language at the B1 / B2 level,and is a prerequisite for obtaining a scholarship of the German academic exchange service.
