The final concert within the framework of the Europe Day 2016 Fest took place at the Theater Square on May 22nd. It was organized by the youth organization League of Political Foreign Policy Experts "Dipcorpus" with support of Mariupol City Council and MSU. A tent city was installed this day for the people of Mariupol. There were handicrafts and national dishes exhibitions representing various European countries. In addition, everyone could demonstrate his knowledge concerning the European Union while taking part in a Euroquiz. Europe Day 2016 lasted for 2 days – from May 20th untill May 22nd. The festival program included the set of competitions and games called "Europe has many faces, Europe is united, Europe is closer than you think, Europe is great and powerful," as well as drawing competition, vocalists competition called "In the wake of Eurovision", "Eurotrip" quest and gala concert "Student Spring 2016". First deputy mayor of Mariupol Alexander Holtvenko and Rector of Mariupol State University, Professor, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Cyprus in Mariupol Kostyantyn Balabanov delivered a speech at the closing concert of the Europe Day 2016 Fest in Mariupol. Serhii Holubkov (Head of the Department for Youth and Family of Mariupol City Council) and executive secretary of the League of Political Foreign Policy Experts "Dipcorpus" Anastasia Hadgimahomedova rewarded participants of the "Eurotrip" quest. The Europe Day 2016 Fest has been held in Mariupol since 2004 at the initiative of the students of specialty "International relations" who are also founded the League of Political Foreign Policy Experts "Dipcorpus". Future diplomats told about the history, traditions, prominent European figures as well as about the goals and achievements of the European Union within the framework of the fest. | |
