Journalists from Bulgaria, Georgia, Estonia, Spain, Cyprus, Lithuania and Germany visited Mariupol State University as part of a media trip arranged by the Academy of Ukrainian Press with the support of the US Embassy in Ukraine.
The representatives of foreign media were met by MSU Rector, Professor, Honorary Consul General of the Republic of Cyprus in Mariupol Kostyantyn Balabanov and Vice-rector for scientific and pedagogical work, Associate Professor Iryna Petrova. The rector familiarized the guests with the history of formation and development of the university, focusing on the results of active international activities thereof.
Journalists' questions concerned the work of the university in difficult military and political conditions, as well as support for students who came from the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Lugansk regions and cooperation with foreign universities, in particular Spain, Cyprus and Georgia.
After the meeting with the administration, the foreign journalists were given a tour around the university. They were shown Center of Baltic and Black sea regional studios, the library of Hellenistic studios named in honour of Kostyantynos Levendis, Institute of Ukraine and Greek friendship and Hellenistic studies, Italian cultural center and information resource center "Window on America", which operates on the basis of the scientific library of MSU.
