International students from MSU attend a workshop on Painting Pysankas

On the eve of the Easter holidays, “AbyShcho” Art Space hosted a workshop on painting Pysankas for international students of Mariupol State University. The event took place in the framework of the ERASMUS + INTERADIS project “International Students Adaptation and Integration”.

The workshop, organised by MSU's International Relations Office, aimed to familiarise young people with the traditions of the Ukrainian people and the holiday of Easter.

During the event, citizens from Azerbaijan, Guinea and Turkmenistan learned about the symbolism of signs in Ukrainian culture and tried to create their own Pysanka.

I was really struck by the beauty of the Pysankas at last year's city festival. When I heard about the workshop, I immediately decided to take part and try my hand at the craft. This is a great opportunity to learn something new about Ukraine and Ukrainian traditions,

–  Turkmenistan student Zokhreniiaz Tutlykova.

This is not the first time that a workshop for foreigners has been held. Exposure to Ukrainian traditions in similar formats helps MSU students from other countries to adapt more quickly to their new cultural environment.
