Members of English speaking clubs discussed computer games and studied environmental vocabulary

On October 5, the Window on America information resource centre, which operates on the basis of the research library of Mariupol State University, held a regular meeting of the English Speaking Movie Fans Club led by a senior teacher of the Theory and Practice of Translation Department Yana Panova.

The topic of the meeting was computer games. Members of the club played the game "MyThree" - "Three of the most favorite computer games in my life". Participants talked about their passion for computer games in childhood or, on the contrary, about complete indifference to games.

During the meeting, the audience watched Steven Spielberg's sci-fi adventure film "Ready Player One", based on the novel of the same name by Ernest Kline. On watching, the participants discussed what is better: life in the virtual dimension, where everything is possible, or in the real one - with problems, responsibilities and routine.

Also on this day there was a meeting of the English Speaking Club Teens. Under the guidance of the centre volunteer, an English teacher Natalia Yukhymenko, the teenagers studied vocabulary on environmental topics: waste recycling, natural resources conservation, and environmental care.
