Julia Kazhan, head of German and French Philology Department of Mariupol State University, took part in the cross-country seminar “Exquisite Austria”, which was from July 29 to August 5 in Vienna. The event was organized with the support of the Austrian Federal Ministry for Education, Science and Research and the "Language and Culture" program.
The seminar was attended by 22 German language teachers from Ireland, the USA, Vietnam, Spain, Mexico, Cuba, Iran, Egypt, Georgia and other countries.
During the week, participants attended classes at the "Kardinal König Haus" Training Center, and before that they spent three weeks studying online.
The teachers discussed the features of the Austrian version of German language, current trends in Austrian literature for teens and young people, topical issues of teaching German using songs and films. The highlight of the seminar was a culinary workshop, where the participants got acquainted with Austrian cuisine.
Also, while in Vienna, participants visited the Schönbrunn Palace and the Hofburg Imperial Palace - the summer and winter residences of the Austrian Emperors, St. Stephen's Catholic Cathedral and the Hundertwasser House.
Participation in the seminar was the highlight of the holiday! We had a great group, the seminar was organized in that way, so we had time both to study and to explore the sights of Vienna, and to communicate with each other. I am sure that new contacts and acquaintances with German language teachers from all over the world will contribute to the implementation of interesting international projects,
